8 Months Old!

My baby is 8 months old today!

Haden loves..
*Landon! He just loves watching him and stays entertained.

*Food! This kid will eat anything I give him. Yay! I was introduced to a book called Baby-Led Weaning. It's about letting your baby feed himself.  A hands off approach. They decide how much they eat, what they eat and they feed themselves. NO PUREES! I hate spoon feeding so this was the best thing ever! They eventually wean themselves from breast or bottle. I highly recommend this book. It helped me get over my fear of him choking, explaining why they are just as likely to choke on pureed food as they are solids. There is also a cookbook with baby friendly recipes that the whole family will still like, they are made with lower salt and sugar levels. The cookbook has a summary of the regular book at the beginning so if you like cookbooks then I'd just get it instead of the regular book.
When he want more food, or something that I'm eating, he grunt/growls at me to give it to him. So funny!

*Mommy! He is a Mommy's boy all the way :) I just love coming into the room and having him speed crawl towards me or the look on his face when he sees me.

*His blankey! He will nose dive his blanket if it's on the floor. His little cheeks are always red from him rubbing them on the blankets.

*The bath! He will just relax and lounge out.

*Neck/back/leg/belly tickles! He will stop what he's doing and go into a trance if I tickle his neck. It can keep him distracted for a good while.

*The vacuum! He love's following the vacuum around. If he hears it he must go find it.

He is a speed crawler. He learned quickly and he gets around everywhere. He's now trying to stand up on furniture and climb stairs. He was so mad last night when he couldn't climb the steps :(

His sleeping habits are driving me crazy. He only sleeps 5-6 hours then wakes up to eat (I know that's considered sleeping through the night to doctors but I don't like it) Lately he's been staying up screaming for an hour or more before he goes back to sleep. It's been really frustrating. We went through this with Landon where we were holding him for 1-2 hours every night and I just don't want to do that again so we let him scream and check on him every so often. He will randomly sleep 10-12 hours but not very often.

He is a chunk! He's already wearing 12-18 month clothes.

His hair is finally coming back and I just love his super thick dark eyelashes. I'm so jealous!

Love this baby! I'm so grateful he's mine :)

Landon is getting so big! Still a shorty though...
I talked again with the doctor about Landon's eating habits and the only suggestion was to try to get him to drink green smoothies so he can get more fruits and vegetables. So far it's not working. He only had a couple sips and wouldn't drink more. But I'll keep trying.

Yesterday was Landon's first dentist visit. I expected there to be tantrums but he baffled me and actually let the dentist look at his teeth. I have to head lock this kid to brush his teeth every night!

He was nervous at first, but then they pulled out the Cars tooth brushes. He couldn't decide between Mater and Lightening  (who could, right?) so he got two new tooth brushes. We actually had a really great picture of him smiling and staring at the tooth brushes, but I somehow deleted it while showing it to my mom and sis. in law. I'm really, really sad about it :(

The dentist said that he has big baby teeth and he can tell that Landon will need early orthodontics,(Yay.) but he has nice strong teeth. So good news and bad news I guess...

My poor baby got his first two teeth for Christmas :( Yep, first cut through on Christmas eve and the second the day after. He also caught a cold. So now me, Landon and Haden are fighting colds. Sick babies are no fun.

He's crawling everywhere now, it's kind of a sad, exciting thing in the sense that it's happening so soon, he's growing up too fast. But Landon only army crawled, and he didn't work up to it like Haden, he just one day started army crawling. So it's been fun the see the development. It's a new experience for me.

Landon's 3rd Birthday

3 years ago today I gave birth to this handsome little guy! It's just too crazy that it's been that long already!

Landon is so smart, I'm so proud. He loves numbers and letters. He just started singing the ABC's and it is so cute! I tried to record him but as soon as he sees the camera it's all over. He's really into Disney Cars still and his newest love is the Angry Birds, he loves playing the game. He's very into electronics, he figured out Grandma's iPad after using it only a few times. Loves watching movies. Some of the favorites right now are of course Cars, Ice age, Mickey Mouse-Have a Laugh, & Word World. Whenever my camera is out somewhere he can reach it, he always finds it and starts taking pictures, he's actually pretty good.
He likes routine, we have to do things certain ways or we get into trouble. He notices when things aren't normal. The other night Danny went in to read to Landon, Dan wasn't wearing a shirt and Landon was concerned about it, he said  "Where'd shirt go?" I said "I don't know maybe you should get Daddy one." So Landon ran into our room and attempted to get one by standing on a laundry basket. The laundry basket kept crushing when he'd step on it so he started getting frustrated. I pulled a shirt down and he took it to Daddy and made him put it on.
He still doesn't talk much, and communication is pretty hard, I think he knows what I'm saying but he has very selective hearing... Figuring out what he wants sometimes is no fun at all because he will just stand there throwing fit. Usually his answer to a any question is "No" so sometimes he wants something but you don't know it until you put it back and he gets mad because you put it back. He got confused when I started telling him "That's not ok" when he was being naughty because I didn't want to say "No" too much. Now he says "No, ok." when you ask him if he wants something. It's kind of confusing but it generally means "No"
He has recently started showing concern when Haden is crying. He says "Oh noo! Baby bruh-er is crying!" and sometimes will say "It's ok baby bruh-er.". Earlier today I caught him stepping on Hadens belly.. Yes very naughty but that's more interaction then usual :)
He still eats nothing. Sometimes getting him to eat his usual cereal, pop tarts, or crackers, is next to impossible. I don't know how he goes through days with out eating anything more than crackers. Sometimes at the end of the day after I've fought to get him to eat a bowl of cereal and put him to bed, I realize how little he ate during the day. It freaks me out and makes me wonder what I should have done differently with feeding him when he was younger. Sometimes I blame myself, maybe I was too stingy when it came to what I would let him eat at what age. I was always worried about allergies or if he was old enough to try this and that. But I have to remember my best friend growing up and my brother were the same way. Maybe it wasn't what I did or didn't do..

We had an Angry Birds cake this year. He loved looking at it, He of course didn't eat any.

He doesn't like being sung to (I can't sing along to the radio with out getting in trouble) so when we sang Happy Birthday he started clinging to Grandma and fussing. He liked when the candles were blown out though.

He got some pretty cool stuff! The only smile we got on camera was when he opened the Word World movie (the above picture). He was however pretty excited about the Cars 2 race track.

So excited in fact that he didn't really care about the Cars 2 blu-ray he opened next.

6 Months!

My baby is 6 months old today! I can't believe it! Time is going by even faster now and I really don't like it! My babies are growing up, Landon will be 3 a week from today. It just blows my mind!

Haden is getting really big, he rolls everywhere and is now getting up on his hands and knees and rocking. I think he'll be crawling very soon then I'll be in trouble. He will be into everything! He's still working on sitting up alone, with a little more practice it won't be long until he masters it.
He really likes paper and anything that makes the crinkle noise. Likes to jump and his favorite things is to be held of course. I spend most of my day holding him or if I'm not holding him, listening to him scream about it. He LOVES to eat. I'm hoping he will be an awesome eater, unlike my Landy who eats nothing at all.

He doesn't sleep through the night very often any more, naps are usually short or don't happen because he's really hard to keep asleep, and sometimes hard to get to sleep. He's very sensitive, slight head bonks,  someone sneezing or not picking him up hurt his feelings.
I'm undecided if the Zantac works at all, but I don't think the screaming is because of reflux anyway. I think it made him less pukey but he still screams all the time. I'm hoping he will grow out of it very soon. Maybe when he's mobile?

The first picture was from two months ago. He had tons of handsome dark hair. The second picture was the other day. I'm so sad, I love his hair! You can also see how much bigger he is, in just two months! He's huge!

Haden is 4 Months Old!

My baby turned 4 months old on 10-9-2011. I can't believe it's already been 4 months since I brought my tiny baby home from the hospital.  Both my boys are growing up way too fast!
We took Haden to his Well Child Check-up today. He is healthy and growing perfectly!
His 4 month stats are,
Weight: a whopping 17lbs!  77.53%tile
Height:25.5 inches 58.52%tile
Head circ: 16.4 inches 23.79%tile
We talked to the doctor about Haden screaming ALL the time. He gave us a prescription for Zantac, to see if it has anything to do with reflux. I had decided that milk protein wasn't a problem and I have been back on dairy for about 2 weeks. The doctor confirmed that if Haden had a dairy problem, then we would definitely know about it. So, yay! No more feeling guilty about eating dairy!
The other possible problem with Haden's screaming, could be that he is still too sensitive, when the doctor was examining him, turning his head, Haden would cry and flail his arms. The doctor said most babies didn't care by this age and didn't react like he was. He said it had something to do with his nervous system being to immature still. 
Any way we are going to try the Zantac for two weeks and see if it makes any difference and then re evaluate the situation and see if he needs a different medicine or if we'll just have to let him grow out of the crying.
