Labor Day at Willard Bay!

We spent our Labor Day weekend at Willard Bay Campground. I was so impressed, They had nice big campsites, clean bathrooms with flushing toilets, showers and a nice sandy beach.
The first night we almost froze. We didn't realize how cold it would be at night, so we only took blankets. Lucky for us, Dan's brother's family came up the next day and were able to stop by our house and grab some sleeping bags. Yay!
We played at the beach until Landon's nap, around 3. We got back to the tent, I went to unzip it and a huge disgusting spider ran across my hand! I HATE spiders. They are the worst thing right above bees. So I had a little heart attack. Finally recover and we enter the tent. Landon isn't used to sleeping anywhere but his crib, as I have mentioned before, so it took almost an hour to get him to sleep. And of course he only slept of 45 min.
Landon was very ornery when he got up. So we drove back to the beach hoping to cheer him up. When we got there, the wind was blowing so hard, everyone was packing up to leave.
When we got back to camp he cheered up because his cousins were there. My niece Grace, who's 3, kept hugging him, of course he tried to resist, then eventually gave in to her affection and hugged her back. It was the cutest thing! I wish I had gotten a photo.

Here are some at the beach

I am shocked he let Dan put the life jacket on him! He's really weird about new things.
I'm worrying about closed toed shoes this winter...

He thought this was so funny, Dan would divert the water so it splashed him in the face.

  2. That's really adorable! I really am so jealous of your campling adventures. And I had to smile at the spider story, thinking back to our first year at girls' camp where we had so many nasty spiders in the tent remember? yuck!
